CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police searching for a 23-year-old man after a shooting on Aug. 18 at a south Charlotte motel that left one man dead and another hurt.
The shooting happened around 2 a.m. along Nations Ford Road at the City Inn Motel.

Officers were already in the area when they heard gunfire and started searching for suspects, victims and witnesses. While searching, they found two men with gunshot wounds, police said.
Paramedics took both victims to the hospital, where Rafael Reyes died from his injuries. The second person is expected to be OK.
Dallas Dawkins is wanted for the murder.
Witnesses told Channel 9′s Anthony Kustura the shooting may have started as a fight that escalated into gunfire, leaving the two men shot.
No arrests have been made.
