CORNELIUS, N.C. — A major mixed-use project is being proposed in Cornelius is having its first public hearing Monday.
The Cornelius Town Board will hold a hearing for Sefton Park, a mixed-use project including multifamily units, commercial space and a hotel and conference center. The project is being proposed by Jack and Don Shaw of Greenville, South Carolina-based real estate firm Shaw Resources Inc. The developer is seeking to rezone a 10-acre site between West Catawba Avenue and Sefton Park Road to accommodate the project.

The project calls for 344 multifamily units and 7,800 square feet of commercial space, documents show. Sefton Park also includes a 113-room hotel with 47,600 square feet of meeting, office and restaurant space.
