Recently closed self-serve bar uptown hits market

CHARLOTTE — Taproom Social has served its last beers.

Owner Sunkul Soni made the tough call to shutter the self-pour taproom at 430 W. Fourth St. at the end of January.

The business never fully recovered from COVID, as uptown traffic has remained static.

“We did everything in our power to stay afloat,” Soni says. “Uptown is very much a ghost town and that hurts.”

National Restaurant Properties has listed the lease and assets for that 2,313-square-foot space at $300,000.

The lease runs through April 2029, with a five-year option.
