CHARLOTTE — Lucid Bots has signed a lease to relocate its headquarters to a north Charlotte facility that’s double the size of its current location.

The local robotics company is moving from 22,500 square feet at 6601 Northpark Blvd. to 45,000 square feet at 9013 Perimeter Woods Drive. It anticipates making the move in December, founder and CEO Andrew Ashur said.

The move comes as Lucid Bots was running out of space on Northpark Boulevard and experiencing increases in demand. Its move will facilitate expanding its portfolio of products.

“Sometimes what happens with manufacturing companies is you start to create these two buckets where our commercial office is in one building, and many miles away is the manufacturing facility, or it’s in a different town or state,” Ashur said. “We dislike that notion strongly ... and we think there’s this gravitational pull and compounding effect when you can have all those people under one roof.”
