Rock Hill property sale could be tied to Atrium Health, records show

Atrium Health

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill could soon be getting a new medical center after a $3.5 million property sale.

The telecommunications company, Comporium, sold eight Rock Hill properties on Oct. 13 to a Charlotte-based company, possibly affiliated with Atrium Health, according to The Charlotte Observer.

York County land records show AH South Carolina, Inc. purchased the land. The Observer reports the purchasing entity and Atrium share a mailing address.

The site is close to downtown Rock Hill, near Dave Lyle Boulevard, Trade Street and Willowbrook Avenue.

Atrium Health has not publicly shared if they are involved in the sale.

If Atrium adds services in Rock Hill, they would join a growing list of medical projects across the Charlotte region.

Currently, Atrium plans to build a hospital in Fort Mill and invest $340 million to expand mental health services across Charlotte.

Novant Health wants to build two hospitals in Rock Hill and Lincoln County, and South Carolina’s state-run health system is also putting a hospital in Indian Land.
