SC woman dies in two-car crash in Lincoln County, troopers say

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A woman is dead after a two-car crash in Lincoln County on Sunday afternoon, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded around 5:15 p.m. to a crash on Reepsville Road at the intersection of Corriher Farm Road north of Lincolnton.

According to troopers, the driver of a 2014 Kia Optima stopped on Corriher Farm Road started onto Reepsville Road without yielding the right of way and hit a 1992 Jeep Wrangler that was headed west.

The driver of the Kia, Dorothy Gail Thomas, 53, of North, South Carolina, died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not hurt, troopers said.

Highway patrol said both drivers were wearing a seatbelt and neither was suspected to be impaired. No charges are expected, troopers said.
