TROUTMAN, N.C. — Several Troutman area schools are releasing students early on Tuesday following a power outage that has created safety and operational challenges.
Troutman Elementary was scheduled to dismiss at noon, while the Career Academy and Technical School, Troutman Middle and South Iredell High will dismiss at 1 p.m.
Troutman Police officers are directing traffic at major intersections.
Bus drivers will ensure that the district’s youngest students have parents at their stops before dropping them off. If a parent is not at the stop, the bus driver will return the student to campus.
Power restoration is estimated for 1 p.m., Troutman officials said.
