MCDOWELL COUNTY, N.C. — A tractor-trailer carrying milk crashed off the road and shut down Interstate 40 west Thursday morning in McDowell County.
It happed just before 5 a.m. Troopers say the tanker disconnected from the power unit and crashed near the Burke County line at Dysartsville Road.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.
North Carolina State Highway Patrol says drivers are being detoured at the 94 mile marker. They say the road is expected to be closed for an extended amount of time.
