Suspect charged in killing of father of 4 in north Charlotte shooting

CHARLOTTE — A 34-year-old suspect faces multiple charges following a fatal shooting on Atando Avenue in north Charlotte that left a father of four dead.

Detectives identified Donovan Denzel Davis as the suspect in the Feb. 9 shooting that killed 37-year-old Bradley Reid. Investigators obtained warrants for Davis’ arrest on Tuesday.

The warrants charge Davis with murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by a felon and five counts of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

Davis is currently in federal custody in Virginia. He will be served with the warrants once extradited to Mecklenburg County.
