CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said thieves are stealing from businesses in Charlotte, then targeting those same stores in other counties and states.

Police said the suspects are organized and can steal thousands of dollars’ worth of merchandise in one hit.
