TV show highlighting educators, STEM professionals holding auditions

CHARLOTTE — Frame of Minds and Cam Productions are producing a television show aimed at middle school-aged students. “North Carolina STEM Explorers” will air across the state beginning September 2022.

In Charlotte, the show will broadcast on WSOC-TV.

WRAL-TV in the Raleigh, WGHP-TV in the Greensboro-High Point area and WWAY-TV in Wilmington will also air the show.

Twenty-six episodes featuring 26 different topics will be filmed.

Producers are looking for educators and STEM professionals to teach STEM experiments on the weekly show.

Auditions for a middle school student host will also be held in each market. Five students will be chosen, and each will receive a 529 North Carolina Scholarship fund worth $5,000.

Auditions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at the WSOC-TV studio at 235 W. 23rd Street.

Experiments should be a 10-11-minute experience geared toward the middle school curriculum and demonstrate excitement for the topic of that show. There will be one theme or topic per show, two experiments and a career segment that incorporates an interview with someone in a STEM career.

Auditions will also be held on May 21 at WRAL-TV in Raleigh and WWAY-TV in Leland.
