The Sheriff’s Office seized more than $30,000 in cash, two handguns and 1,839 “dosage units of pills” believed to be a fentanyl blend or street version of a pharmaceutical opioid, according to the news release.

Detectives also seized more than 22 grams of marijuana.

Adkins was charged with two counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a dwelling, possession of marijuana and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Ritch was charged with trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a dwelling, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

“The pills sold on the street are often not what they are represented to be,” Sheriff Eddie Cathey said. “If they contain any amount of fentanyl, they are dangerous and can lead to fatal overdoses.”

Adkins is in the Union County Jail under $750,000 bond.

Ritch is in jail under $500,000 bond.
