Upscale Cuban restaurant to open in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This upscale Cuban restaurant expects to open in Madison Corners next year.

El Puro Cuban Restaurant — a family-owned and operated full-service venture — will occupy 5,500 square feet at that retail center at 5033 South Blvd. It plans to open in the second quarter.

The concept is the second for the team behind Havana Carolina Restaurant & Bar in Concord.

Expect El Puro to dish up family recipes and staples of Cuban cuisine, with happy hours, live entertainment and hand-rolled cigars planned as well.
