Uptown eatery closes after less than a year

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — This uptown restaurant closed up shop over the weekend — less than a year after opening.

Cantina 1511 says that decision was tied to slower traffic and ongoing staffing issues. The size of the uptown restaurant — at roughly 9,000 square feet — also presented additional challenges.

“We really struggled with the decision,” says Dick Campbell, president and CEO of Quantum Development.

But that decision opens the door to pursue a new concept, called Poco 1511, Campbell says.
