GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — It’s the final stretch for candidates vying for your vote this election and things are starting to heat up in Gaston County.
Republicans say they have video of a judge stealing one of their signs.
Video from last weekend at the county board of elections office, which serves as an early voting site, shows Judge Jesse Caldwell taking a sign and putting it in his car.
Republicans put up the sign that reads, “Jesse Caldwell, a proud Democrat.”
Judge Caldwell is an incumbent facing a Republican challenger. He said the sign had his logo and design and he removed it because it isn’t a campaign sign.
He said no crime was committed.
