IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — The Iredell County Board of Commissioners met for its regular meeting on Aug. 18, addressing key school capital investments, public safety funding, and more.
One of the key highlights from the meeting included the approval of funding for Phase 2 of Weathers Creek High School renovations. The Board voted 3-2 to approve a formal request from the Iredell-Statesville Schools (ISS) Board of Education for $20 million to complete Phase 2 (athletic facilities) of Weathers Creek High School.
The approved package relies on $16.33 million transferred from the capital projects reserve fund, $3.70 million appropriated from the future capital reserve fund balance, and roughly $4 million in ISS district-identified contributions and project scope savings outlined by Monteith Construction.
The next Iredell County Board of Commissioners meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sep. 1.
