What's on the to-do list for Carolina Panthers' buyer?

CHARLOTTE — Hedge-fund billionaire David Tepper has all but bought the Carolina Panthers for a reported $2.2 billion sale price pending a vote by NFL owners next week in Atlanta.

But, even before the sale officially closes, questions are swirling about what Tepper might change and when — as well as the overarching speculation about what happens to Bank of America Stadium in uptown Charlotte.

While city government leaders have already begun contemplating the possible funding for a new round of stadium renovations, an NFL investigation into team founder Jerry Richardson’s conduct continues. The Charlotte Business Journal talked to industry experts and consultants about those topics as well as some of the first items likely to be on Tepper’s to-do list as he takes over a team that’s had only one owner in its 25-year history.
