Which NC high schools are producing top college graduates?

NORTH CAROLINA — In a state filled with nationally recognized universities, it may come as no surprise that North Carolina high-schoolers are finding their way into top schools. However, a recent report shows that some high schools in the state are producing more than their fair share of top college graduates.

A recent report, courtesy of PolarisList, gathered more than 9,600 records of private and public high schools where at least one graduate went on to one of the nation’s top three universities, per U.S. News & World Report’s latest list. Those are Princeton University, Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

PolarisList chose the three universities because of “a combination of their selectivity and their accessibility to lower-income students.” Those three, the website pointed out, had the highest percentage of students on Pell Grants.

In North Carolina, the top 10 high schools produced 75 graduates for the esteemed schools between 2015 and 2017. Check out this slideshow to find out which ones.
