CHESTER, S.C. — Chester police are investigating after a man was found shot to death in a home Thursday morning.
Gloria Dean Waters, 61, was sitting at the kitchen table unarmed before she was taken into custody, police said.
Danny O’Neil Thomas, 39, was found shot in the home on Starnes Street.
Waters is facing charges of assault and battery, according to Channel 9's partners at the Rock Hill Herald.
Thomas's slaying is the second homicide investigation in the past 24 hours in Chester County.

A Great Falls man shot another man Thursday on Richburg Road, according to a report by the Chester County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived at the scene and saw a man on the ground by a vehicle when Stephen A. Collins, 25, approached them.
Collins said he was attacked.
A deputy noticed the man on the ground, Brandon Jones, had a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
The deputy performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but Jones later died.
