CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Teams will race to Charlotte bars and complete challenges as part of The Amazing Race Bar Crawl.
The annual event, which started in 2005 and benefits AIDS WALK Charlotte, will be held March 31.
Teams of five will race to a series of bars and purchase drinks and complete challenges at each destination. Each challenge will offer rewards and penalties, including possible additions or deductions to the team’s time. Challenges will also determine whether the team is given an easy or difficult clue to the next destination.
When all teams have turned in their passports and final times have been calculated, the winning teams will be determined based on the least amount of time taken to finish the race.
Awards will be given to the team with the fastest actual time, fastest game time, best team costume/theme and best team T-shirt.
The event kicks off at Brixx Pizza in uptown.
