INDIANAPOLIS — A photo shared by a police department is touching hearts across the country.
The photo was posted by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department on Facebook Sunday. That same day, a gunman killed three police officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
About a week earlier, five police officers in Dallas were killed when a peaceful rally turned deadly.
Before that, two black men were killed by police officers.
The photo, posted just one day ago, has gotten more than 5,000 likes. The kids in the photo are dressed in police gear and are kneeling in front of a police car. Their hands are clasped and their heads are bowed.
The photo has a simple caption: “Praying their father and all police officers return home safely.
