A jury in Minnesota is deliberating the fate of former police officer Kim Potter, who is accused of killing Daunte Wright during a traffic stop in April in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.
Testimony wrapped up Friday and closing arguments were given Monday morning before the trial moved into the next phase.
Potter is charged with first-degree manslaughter and second-degree manslaughter for the fatal shooting of Wright, CNN reported.
She was heard on video yelling “Taser” repeatedly, but instead of grabbing the device, she grabbed her gun and fired it, hitting Wright.
Potter has pleaded not guilty.

Potter took the stand in her own defense testifying that she “didn’t want to hurt anybody” and apologizing for shooting Wright, CNN reported.
The jury is made up of 14 people, with 12 deliberating and two alternates who have listened to testimony.
The group of 14 is comprised of seven men and seven women make up the group. It is broken down to seven white men, four white women, two Asian women and one Black woman, CNN reported.
