He’s served his community for seven years and has helped take $1 million worth of narcotics off the streets of the Arizona town, KTVK reported.

His handler adopted Bruno after his last day on the force and Bruno will have a new life “chasing rabbits instead of bad guys,” as the dispatcher said during his last call video.

A followup post shows that Bruno is ready for his new assignment of “dreaming of ice cream sandwiches” as he lounges around the house.

K9 Bruno retirement update! It didn’t take Bruno long to realize how sweet retirement can be! #DreamingOfIcecreamSandwiches #OroValleyPD #RetirementIsSweet
