GREEK FESTIVAL PARKING INFORMATION

None — Parking is often an issue at the popular Yiasou Greek Festival, taking place today through Sunday in Dilworth. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has provided the following information about alternate parking locations and shuttle service for the festival:   From September 9th through the 12th, the annual Yiasou Greek Festival will be held at 600 East Boulevard. Those of you familiar with the event know that it draws huge crowds. With those crowds, parking issues sometimes arise.   If you want to avoid the headache of circling the block, trying to find some open curb space, please consider satellite parking that will be available with shuttle service.   You can park at the gravel parking lot on the corner of East and Lombardy Circle starting on Friday after 5 PM. The shuttle will run from 5pm until closing on Friday and from 12 noon until closing on Saturday and Sunday.   There is also parking available at 700 E. Stonewall Street starting on Friday at 5pm. A shuttle will be available from 5pm until closing on Friday and from 12 noon until closing on Saturday and Sunday. A shuttle will run from the LYNX light rail station near East Blvd.  This will be a shuttle stop only - no parking will be available.   There will be police officers working these parking lots for security, but you should still practice putting away valuables and locking your vehicle.
