Flooding

Rain causes major flooding in western counties of N.C.

NORTH CAROLINA — Days of rain in North Carolina's western counties are causing some pretty major flooding.

In Bryson City, a culvert backed up with heavy rain, eventually sending a torrent of water through a trailer park.

Crews came to get people out of their homes and help them find places to stay.

The rushing water sliced right underneath several of the homes, making them unsafe to live in.

In other western counties, creeks and rivers are full, even spilling over in places.

It is part of a system that has been raking over the mountains in our area.
