- Extreme heat will continue across the Charlotte area through the end of the week, with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values between 100 and 105 degrees.
- Heat advisories have been issued for Union, Anson and Richmond counties for Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Relief is on the way for the holiday weekend. A storm system is expected to move into the area, bringing rain chances and cooler temperatures.
- Rain totals aren’t expected to be significant at this point, but the system should be enough to bring highs down into the mid to upper 80s Sunday and Monday.
