FORECAST:
- After a cloudy start, sunshine is breaking out across the area, with only a few isolated showers possible in the high country this afternoon.
- The bigger concern is the building heat and humidity, with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s and heat index values potentially reaching triple digits.
- The hot pattern is expected to stick around, with 90-degree temperatures continuing into next week.
- That could make this one of Charlotte’s longest stretches of 90-degree days this year.
