FORECAST: Hot Saturday before a slight relief

  • We have one more day of extreme heat to get through before we finally get some relief!
  • Temperatures will be back in the upper 90s today and feeling like the triple digits.
  • A Heat Advisory is once again in place for the metro area as well as neighborhoods south and east.
  • A cold front will approach our area tonight. Ahead of that front we’ll see storms develop, some of which could be strong to severe with damaging winds and heavy rain the top threats.
  • Storms will start up after 2 pm and continue through early tonight.
  • Temperatures tomorrow will drop by 5-10 degrees with highs in the upper 80s! We could still see a stray shower or storm, though that severe threat is much lower.
  • Labor Day is the pick of the weekend with highs in the mid-80s and mostly dry conditions.
