FORECAST: Humid but not as hot, scattered showers, storms possible

  • It won’t be nearly as hot today, but it will be more humid.
  • So, it will still feel quite warm. Highs in the mid-80s will feel like low to mid-90s with the heat index.
  • Scattered shower and storm chances go up today with activity developing at any time, but the highest risk for rain will be this evening and early overnight.
  • Heavy downpours with lightning are the main threats.
  • Rain chances then drop off for Sunday with just a low risk for an isolated downpour.
  • The heat builds back in as highs return to the lower 90s.
  • It will be quite hot and humid for the Panthers opener Sunday afternoon.
  • Quiet weather for most (if not all) of next week as highs cool back to the mid to upper 80s again on Tuesday with a drop in the humidity.
