- The top weather story is rising temperatures, with some areas nearing 90 degrees before rain moves in this weekend.
- Some neighborhoods in the southern part of the area could briefly reach 90 degrees Thursday and Friday. Humidity will make it feel like the low 90s during the afternoon.
- A slow-moving cold front will push through the Carolinas this weekend, bringing rain beginning Saturday afternoon.
- Forecast models have backed off the intensity of the downpours, but showers are still expected Saturday afternoon and could continue through the day Sunday.
