BEECH MOUNTAIN, N.C. — Excitement and nostalgia always surround the mysterious Land of Oz theme park in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. Although it was closed for many years, the park has been opening its gates to host special events several times a year.
Last year, however, the park offered private tours instead of large public events because of the pandemic.
But this year, there’s good news for Oz fans — the park is expanding its annual fall festival to three full weekends. Autumn at Oz will be held Sept. 10-12, 17-19 and 24-26.
The festival will feature characters from the classic story, live performances, arts and crafts vendors, a petting zoo and other activities.
Tickets cost $55 plus taxes and fees. Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free.
