Krispy Kreme introduces mini doughnuts

If watching your diet was one of your New Year’s resolutions, believe it or not, Krispy Kreme is here to help you.

Earlier this month, the famous North Carolina-based doughnut maker introduced its latest permanent menu item: mini versions of its four most popular doughnuts -- Original Glazed, Chocolate Iced Glazed, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles and Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles.

“Too many people bail on their New Year’s resolutions before they are even halfway through January. That’s no good,” said Krispy Kreme’s chief marketing officer, Dave Skena, in a news release.

“Sometimes a mini-indulgence, or cheat, is all you need to help you stick with it. So, we miniaturized our most popular doughnuts.

“A little Krispy Kreme goes a long way.”

The new mini doughnuts are the perfect cheat sweet for calorie counters, too. Each doughnut is less than 100 calories.

Krispy Kreme is also offering a sweet introduction to its latest treats, as well -- fans can try the new minis for free each Monday this month during “Mini Mondays” from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. To find a participating shop near you, visit krispykreme.com/promos/minis today.
