Recall alert: Almond Breeze almond milk may contain dairy milk

More than 145,000 cartons of Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk are being recalled because they may contain dairy  milk, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

A look at the Almond Breeze recall

Check the fridge if you’re lactose-intolerant or have a life-threatening milk allergy!

According to an FDA press release, HP Hood LLC is voluntarily recalling more than 145,000 half-gallon (1.89 L) cartons of this select almond milk because of the presence of an undeclared milk allergen.

The recall was prompted after a report of one person experiencing an allergic reaction after consuming the milk. However, neither medical treatment nor hospitalization were required in that case.

If the presence of dairy isn’t a concern for you or your family, you’re safe to consume Vanilla Almond Breeze almond milk.

All affected cartons have a use-by date of September 2, 2018 on the top and a UPC code of 41570 05621 on the side panel.

The product involved in this recall was distributed to stores and wholesalers in more than two dozen states.

Those states include Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.
