An utterly 'terrified' James Corden goes skydiving with Tom Cruise and we're screaming

James Corden might think twice the next time he books the man with a "need for speed."

The "Late Late Show" host joined Tom Cruise in Perris Valley, Calif., to jump out of a plane at 15,000 ft. in a segment that aired Thursday. As you might've guessed, expletives flew.

"I can't quite believe I'm doing this," the talk show host said, sharing his reservations on camera. He also confided that he was "terrified."

Cruise, who skydives in his new film "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" articulated his doubts that Corden would actually show up. "Between you and me, I was half expecting him to text me and tell me he was canceling."

Despite his apparent fear, Corden was still able to deliver jokes, telling the camera he wanted to cop out. “I’ve actually been trying to get a hold of Tom for the last couple of days to cancel, but apparently I had his number saved wrong in my phone," said Corden. "So, I’d also like to take this time to apologize to Tom Hiddleston for all the messages I sent him about my case of food poisoning.”

After Corden unsuccessfully tried to flee using his "fastest Tom Cruise run," he got schooled by the actor who performs his own stunts.

The host also identified what he saw as the worst possible outcome. “The worst problem is in all of this, if we both die, I will get zero press; I will be a footnote," he cracked. "The story will be: ‘Tom Cruise dies; also that guy who occasionally drives around in a car was also there.’ ”

After receiving some comforting words from Cruise — "Chances are, we're gonna make it" — and doing some stretching on the plane, Corden and Cruise made the jump.

Once the comedian's parachute was pulled, he seemed pleased and marveled at the sites. "What a day, what a view!" he said.

Back on the ground, Corden and Cruise embraced and relished their experience.

"That was incredible!" Corden exclaimed.

"That was amazing!" Cruise responded.

Corden continued gushing over the experience on Twitter Thursday. "Here it is, quite possibly one of my favorite things we've ever shot, jumping out of a plane with @TomCruise !" he tweeted. "An unforgettable day..."
