CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Boxcar Betty’s has joined the growing roster of tenants at Charlotte’s Optimist Hall.
Established in Charleston, South Carolina, six years ago, the stall at Optimist Hall is the restaurant’s fifth location, joining three locations in the greater Charleston area and one in Chicago.
Diners can expect gourmet fried chicken sandwiches, such as the Boxcar with pimiento cheese, peach slaw, house pickles and spicy mayo, and classic Southern sides, such as hand-cut fries and fried pickles.
Vegetarian customers can swap chicken in any sandwich for a fried portobello mushroom cap stuffed with pimiento cheese.
Boxcar Betty’s is the 20th tenant to open at Optimist Hall and is next to Velvet Taco.
Hours are 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
