GRANITE FALLS, N.C.,None — A fugitive homicide suspect from California was arrested in Granite Falls Friday night by members of the U.S. Marshals Hornet's Nest Task Force.
Tony Ernesto Roman, 19, was being sought by federal law enforcement after they said he was wanted in connection with the slaying of a man in Corona, Calif., August 17.
According to authorities, Roman was taken into custody without incident by the US Marshals Service, Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office and the Granite Falls Police Department.
Investigators said Roman is a known gang member in California.
Roman will remain in custody pending extradition back to California.
