CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The University of North Carolina at Charlotte's football team became bowl eligible for the first time in program history.
The Charlotte 49ers won Saturday's game against Marshall University, 24-13.
Fans could be seen storming the field after the game.
ESPN projects the Charlotte 49ers could play in either the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque or the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa.
The Charlotte 49ers next game is Saturday, Nov. 30 against the Old Dominion Monarchs.
