Gastonia man charged with voluntary manslaughter after shooting death, police say

GASTONIA, N.C. — A Gastonia man has been charged with voluntary manslaughter after a man was killed on Tuesday night, the Gaston County police say.

Police said they responded to Twisted Oaks Lane in Gastonia at about 6:20 p.m. and found Timothy Howard Davis, 64, with multiple gunshot wounds. Davis died at the scene.

Bobby Lewis Penny was identified by police as a suspect. He was charged with voluntary manslaughter and remains in Gaston County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.

No additional details were released.
