CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte City Council members are expected to discuss a contract Monday night for more than $1 million to replace the ice rink at Bojangles Coliseum.
Channel 9 has been following the renovations at the coliseum in east Charlotte for years.
Leaders split the project into two phases. The first was completed last October, allowing the Charlotte Checkers to return after the team moved to Time Warner Cable Arena in 2005.
They expect to finish the second phase, which includes replacing the current ice floor, by October of this year.
City leaders set aside $16 million for the project.
