CHARLOTTE — Officials say two people are dead and two more are in the hospital after a crash overnight in east Charlotte.
MEDIC says that they were called to the 7100 block of East W.T. Harris Boulevard just after 1:30 a.m. for a report of a crash.
At the time, MEDIC said that one person was pronounced dead at the scene and three others were taken to the hospital.
CMPD told us a short time ago that the crash involved a car and a motorcycle.
Anthony Ayala, 25, was driving the motorcycle involved in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three people in the other car were taken to the hospital where Roberto Emanuel Ortiz, 14, was later pronounced dead.
The other two passengers suffered minor injuries in the crash.
CMPD says that speed and impairment are suspected factors in this crash in the case of motorcyclist but toxicology results are pending.
Police say that this is an ongoing investigation and we will provide updates as they become available.
