STATESVILLE, N.C. — Police were investigating a homicide in Statesville Thursday evening.
Officers responded to 4th Street near Newbern Avenue at around 6 p.m., where they found 21-year-old Naseem Wilkes shot behind an abandoned home.
Police said Wilkes died at the scene.
No other details have been released at this point. Authorities have not said if any arrests have been made.
This is an ongoing investigation.
