CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A new building will be added to the Charlotte skyline.
Crescent Communities is building a 26-story office town on South Tryon Street that will be occupied by Ally Financial and called the Ally Charlotte Center.
The tower will have a parking garage, a hotel and a ground level public plaza surrounded by shops and restaurants.
The tower will be built where the old Goodyear Building used to be.
Crews demolished the Goodyear Building late last year to make way for the Ally Financial development
Construction is slated to begin early 2018 and wrap up by 2021.
Crews are building a 33-story skyscraper, Legacy Union, across the street at the former Charlotte Observer building.
The development is expected to be finished in two years.
