3 injured in east Charlotte wreck

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three people were taken to Carolinas Medical Center -- University after a wreck happened at about 6 p.m. Monday, Mecklenburg EMS Agency officials said.
 
A witness said a tire blew out on one of the cars, causing it to swerve into the other lane, causing the wreck on Hickory Grove Road near East W.T. Harris Boulevard.
 
Injuries were minor, according to officials.
