SOUTH CAROLINA — Former Republican and Democratic South Carolina governors have set aside their differences to endorse Dr. Annie Andrews for U.S. Senate.
According to a release from Andrews’ campaign team, former Republican Gov. David Beasley and former Democratic Gov. Jim Hodges said Andrews is “the best candidate to put South Carolina first.”
Beasley and Hodges faced off against each other for governor in 1998.
Election Day is Nov. 3. Andrews is facing Republican Sen. Darline Graham for the Senate seat. Recent polls indicate a close race between the two candidates.
