CHARLOTTE — So far in 2026, there have been 64 crashes involving serious injuries in the city of Charlotte.
40 were fatal.
Those collisions involved motor vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.
The fifth annual Mobility Safety Fest held at Clanton Park on Saturday gave adults and kids informative and interactive ways to get to and from their destination safely.
“It’s really important to remember no matter what mode of travel you’re using that you are making choices not only for you, but others around you,” said Scierra Richardson with Charlotte DOT.
The Mobility Safety Fest is sponsored by the Charlotte Department of Transportation’s Vision Zero Program, which has a goal of eliminating fatal and serious injury crashes.
