Atrium builds first full-service hospital in Charlotte area in decades

STALLINGS, N.C. — Atrium Health is set to open its first newly built hospital in decades.

Atrium Health Union West is a full-service hospital and will have an ICU, a maternity care unit and surgery center.

The hospital, located at 1000 Healing Way, has a Matthews mailing address but it is located in Stallings.

Leaders say doctors were directly involved in the concept of this building and were able to suggest features to help patients.

It is the first hospital Atrium has built in the Charlotte area in more than 30 years.
