NEW JERSEY — A North Carolina boy got the full VIP Charlotte FC experience over the weekend.
11-year-old Liam Sullivan is from Elkin and absolutely loves soccer. But this past spring, he had to step away from the pitch because of a seizure disorder.
His team at Atrium Health partnered with Charlotte FC to send Liam and his family to his first professional match in New Jersey against the New York Red Bulls.
He was clearly the team’s good luck charm. Charlotte FC won 2-0.
