Means told Channel 9’s DaShawn Brown the goal this season hasn’t changed. The standard hasn’t either.
The Trojans are coming off back-to-back state titles, and currently chasing their third straight.
Means says he takes pride in having the ball in his hands every play, also accepting the responsibility.
“I don’t want nobody else to feel like... a bad play (or) losing ... is on them. I wanted it to be on me.”
Prior to being named the starting quarterback, Means spent several years on the defensive side of the ball.
His father, who once coached him, is currently on the Trojans’ defensive staff.
Means said they’ll occasionally compare notes, and continue to challenge one another.
“He tells his corners, you know, if he coaches his corners, he probably gives them a little shove here and there,” he joked.
“They get a little blitz or something, but yeah, he knows not to go too hard.”
