CORNELIUS, N.C. — A boutique hotel is one step closer to coming to Cornelius.
The town’s planning board has approved a rezoning request for property at the corner of Mayes Road and Sam Furr Road for the Cornelius Inn.
A developer wants to build a two-story hotel, rental cottages, and a spa building.
It’s the same developer who proposed the Lagoona Bay project in 2023.
The rezoning request now heads to the Cornelius Board of Commissioners for final consideration.
The board will give the final vote on Monday.
