Reporter

Erika Jackson joined the Eyewitness News team in January 2022 after more than a decade in Florida. During her time in the Sunshine State, she worked as a reporter in Fort Myers and Sarasota. Erika uncovered major developments in southwest Florida news, including Gabby Petito and Brian Laundrie’s connection to the state. She was recognized for her coverage of Hurricane Elsa and PTSD service dogs helping veterans. Her proudest accomplishment stems from a series of stories that helped a man find a living kidney donor. Erika highlighted issues related to Florida’s red tide water crisis, reported on the state’s first hospitalized COVID-19 case and got good use of her rainboots covering hurricanes and tropical storms. Erika is a graduate of the University of Miami and Disney College Program alumnus. She performed as 26 characters in Walt Disney World. Her first role as a journalist dates back two decades when she worked as a Kid Reporter for Radio Disney Philadelphia. Born and raised in New Jersey, Erika enjoys everything Charlotte has to offer. You can catch her eating a vegetarian meal at one of South End’s locally owned spots or soaking up the sunshine along the Rail Trail. Whether you have a restaurant suggestion or story tip, Erika would love to hear from you! Send her an email at Erika.Jackson@wsoc-tv.com.
